Video Games: Playing an For an Uncertain Future
by:Bryan Acuna
According to Google dictionaries a video game is a game that is played using technology and video. There is nothing wrong with children using technology as long as they do not use this technology to play violent videos games.
Playing violent video games increase pugnacious behavior, develops malicious thinking, and addiction that will lead you to uncertain future.
In “Psychologists Attack Violent Video Games" an article written by Daniel J. Denoon at WebMD.com, a private-practice psychologist Elizabeth Carll states that, “If you are actively involved in learning, you remember things better.” This indicates how if a kid is playing a shooting game, he will develop a mentally in which he will think killing its okay. The kid may even begin to cultivate a mind in which he believes that killing is entertaining since he/she is getting awarded for it. This mentality could lead him to commit a homicide, the only difference will be no reward.
ISU Assistant Professor of Psychology Douglas Gentile said in an article called “Violent Video Game Feed Aggression In Kids In Japan And U.S.” posted on ScienceDaily.com "It is important to realize that violent video games do not create schools shooters," Gentile said. "They create opportunities to be vigilant for enemies, to practice aggressive ways of responding to conflict and to see aggression as acceptable.” This illustrates how if a kid was to be pushed accidentally, they kid who has been playing video games will react by cursing or even pushing back. This subtly indicates how the kid who has been playing video games may think that it is normal to respond this way.
In “Violent Video Games Linked to Aggressive Behavior “Violent Video Games Linked to Aggressive Behavior” an article published at WebMD Health News by Sean Swint it states that those who reported playing violent video games as a teenager were more likely to become addicted to the game, and spent more time playing the games, which will the lower their college grades. Having too much of anything is never healthy. From this information you can conclude that playing violent games will lead you to addiction. The reason is that your mind just wants more and more killing. Suddenly you become addicted to the game. You no longer want to do anything other than just play the game. Your education begins to become secondary in your life. You no longer want to study because you belive is not as fun as killing people. This causes you as the article said to “get lower grades in college” creating an unclear future.
Kids should not play violent video games, and if they do their parents should inform them about the harm this can cause.

Elizabeth Carll later states in “Psychologists Attack Violent Video Games" posted at WebMD Health News that, “it is important for parents and educators to review what the kids are viewing and to teach them." This will help the kids see the difference between reality and the unreal world of video games.

Video games might seem to entertain you now, but ultimately the will destroy your destiny.
